you probly don't know this but I'm afraid of anything that breathes while I can fake it on a good day no time for birds or bees it's acceptable, though I have myself, and a mirror that'll always share my smile and where on earth do the haunted go? there must be more like me but we're not the type to know try sending signals through the air if we get lucky we can meet where vapours grow (guitar solo) you might be out there but I can guarantee you're one of a few you're a stranger in a hellscape no chance encounter at the grocery store we need to vapourize and leave our bodies on the first date and where on earth do the haunted go? there must be more like me but we're not the type to know try sending signals through the air if we get lucky we can meet where vapours grow

out of my head, and barely awake but she understands, she's in a similar state she's like a bungee cord on the eiffel tower you should be jealous as hell cuz with our powers combined.... I know it's not a contest, but even so (my best friend's better than yours) I know it's not a contest; I'm just sayin' (my best friend's better than yours) [spoken-word excerpt from Brave Little Toaster Friendship and Loyalty Educational Seminar, recorded in 1992 at the University of California, Berkeley: "A true friend... is a toaster? A true friend.. is a lamp? A true friend is a blanket? A true friend... is a lamp? A true friend is a lamp? ...is like a blanket. ...is a toaster?"] you give us dirty looks cuz you don't get the joke, we're on our own wavelength we're just sitting in the corner, our private show, we're allies anywhere we're on the same page, in an identical font like Lennie and Carl, and we do what we want I know it's not a contest, but even so (my best friend's better than yours) I know it's not a contest; I'm just sayin' (my best friend's better than yours)

ever since I was small I've never once been recognized I've been told my looks don't even register on human eyes nobody knows my name, a fly on the wall, my face is a real disguise (NOBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME YOUR FACE IS A REAL DISGUISE A FLY ON THE WALL, YOUR FACE IS A REAL DISGUISE) maybe I'll change my clothes, and catch someone's eye, and be worth a glance or two (YOU'LL NEVER CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES OR BE WORTH A GLANCE OR TWO WON'T CATCH ANY EYES YOU'LL NEVER CHANGE YOR CLOTHES) I had a vision- that I appeared as someone else removed my costume, and the room fell silent in awe all along, I was one of those guys with a memorable face so many features that would stay with you, though it was but a dream a master of unintentional disguise is who I'm cursed to be (stop! stop! if I make a sad face, can you tell? can you tell that I'm making a sad face) nobody knows my name, a fly on the wall, my face is a real disguise (NOBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME YOUR FACE IS A REAL DISGUISE A FLY ON THE WALL, YOUR FACE IS A REAL DISGUISE) maybe I'll change my clothes, and catch someone's eye, and be worth a glance or two (YOU'LL NEVER CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES OR BE WORTH A GLANCE OR TWO WON'T CATCH ANY EYES YOU'LL NEVER CHANGE YOR CLOTHES) I had a vision- that I appeared as someone else DISGUISE FACE removed my costume, and the room fell silent in awe DISGUISE FACE all along, I was one of those guys with a memorable face DISGUISE FACE so many features that would stay with you, though it was but a dream

(yeah yeah yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah, yeah... yeah yeah) the sunday paper says I'm out of touch for buying it and I couldn't agree more but I never thought the means with which I learn about people was gonna make me feel like a caveman print medium, ink and typograph. archaeologists say "how nice" trees will thank you, the world applauds. no one gets papercuts rest in peace, ye sacred printing press I can't accept this sparkling plate of information it's got too many features if only there was room in the world for nostalgic enterprise I wouldn't be such a relic of a creature rest in peace, ye sacred printing press

la la la, as I'm grinding up the beans, many aromatic beans, la la la turn turn turn, and I'm lighting up the stove, put the kettle on the stove, watch it burn if not for thee I'd hate my life joy joy joy as I watch it percolate, and promptly salivate, la la la (agent Dale Cooper: "Black as midnight on a moonless night") glug glug glug, I can feel it in my veins like a microwav-ed brain, waking up hi, hi hi, now I'll greet you with a smile, I'll be happy for a while, how are you? when I come down, I'll likely sulk until then I am everybody's friend optimistic til the end of the high (coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee-cup) life giving. nectar of the gods. a dream within a cup. life giving. nectar of the gods. (agent Dale Cooper: "you know, this is, excuse me- a damn fine cup of coffee. I've had I can't tell you how many cups of coffee in my life, and this- this is one of the best") life is hard, and there's little reason why I should rather be alive than a corpse no one cares if I have a good career or if I am lying here on the dirt all is bleak but don't cry yourself to sleep cuz I know just what you need- have a mug la la la, now lets see that goofy grin let the java babies in, la la la (coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee-cup) life giving. nectar of the gods. a dream within a cup. life giving. nectar of the gods. a dream within a cup. life giving. nectar of the gods. black as midnight. life giving. temporary, coffee cup (agent Dale Cooper: "Damn good coffee! And hot!")

peeling insects off the windshield of your headspace some leave a crater where they crashed into your airbase some groups will splatter all at once it can take some time to clean it can take some elbow grease or nearly everything ancient prophecy foretold we're prone to heartbreak despite that omen you've been flattened like a pancake you read the scripture more than once but broken hearts were waiting in the wings it can take some hypnotherapy or nearly everything build a castle that you never have to leave nearly everything you're never damaged goods if no one's there to see nearly everything after too much wear and tear from bearing crosses it's only fair to try to hide and count your losses we can always build a home on the moon we're never seen we can forgot the hardest parts or nearly everything build a castle that you never have to leave nearly everything you're never damaged goods if no one's there to see nearly everything build a castle that you never have to leave nearly everything you're never damaged goods if no one's there to see nearly everything like in a crater, on a moonscape nearly everything in a crater, on the moonscape nearly everything

about

Kind of a post-punk, psychedelic bedroom-pop record.

Thematically, its more or less a love-letter to the art of intentional self-quarantining.

Also, there is some focus on babies.
